EG1_U8                                  Dictation

It was the first Monday of the summer holidays and Ben’s cousins were on the plane from Berlin to Manchester. In Ashton, Ben was very excited about their visit. “Come on, dad,” Ben said to his father. “Let’s go to the airport now. We mustn’t be late.” On the way to the airport there were a lot of cars on the road; so Ben turned on the radio. “Oh no, there’s a traffic jam near the airport!” he told his father. But Mr Scott didn’t see a problem. “We’ve still got 25 minutes, haven’t we?” he answered. But Ben was very unhappy and said. “But, dad, look at all those cars. We are in trouble. It’s still three miles to the airport.” But his dad wasn’t worried. “You have got their mobile number. You can phone them when they arrive.” But Ben answered, “No, Dad, I can’t, because I left my mobile phone in my room at home.

When Julia and Katrin arrived, they looked for Ben, but he wasn’t there. There wasn’t a message on their mobile phone or at the information desk. Julia was hungry and thirsty; so they went to a restaurant and they drank some orange juice and ate some chips with vinegar. They were simply delicious.
